13 Year Old Wounded in Drive-By Shooting

On Sunday October 23, 2022 at 3:40am Jefferson County Deputies were dispatched to investigate a report of shots fired in the 1600 block of 4th Place NW in Center Point.  Witnesses report that shots were fired into a home from a vehicle which then fled the scene.  Deputies found that a 13-year-old child had been injured by gunfire.  Sheriff’s investigators are talking to witnesses and checking all available video to identify the shooters.  The child was transported to the hospital to be treated for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.  If anyone has information about this crime, they are asked to call 205-325-1450 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
