In 2024, 64 of the 65 H-1B petitions submitted by employers classified under the Information industry located across Jefferson Reporter publication area were approved, according to data provided by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services via the H-1B Employer Data Hub.

This represents an approval rate of 98.5%, which is higher than the average in Alabama across all industries.

The Health Care and Social Assistance industry led the H-1B filings in Jefferson Reporter publication area during 2024, with 81 petitions (25% of all submissions), and an approval rate of 100%. Meanwhile, the Finance and Insurance industry was the second largest contributor, filing 70 petitions (21.6% of the total), with an approval rate of 98.6%.
