UAB head football coach Alex Mortensen will take part in the Drummond Company Celebrity Pro-Am on April 29, as part of the Regions Tradition at Greystone Golf & Country Club.
The event is considered one of Birmingham’s major annual sporting events and draws celebrities, top golfers, community leaders, and fans from across the region. It is an annual stop for the PGA Champions Tour and is recognized as one of its five major championship events.
Mortensen will be onsite from approximately 8 to 10:30 a.m., participating in several scheduled media opportunities coordinated by Eventive Sports ahead of tournament play later in the week. His appearances include interviews with local radio shows such as The Rick Burgess Show and WJOX-FM, television segments with FOX 6 WBRC Good Day Alabama, podcasts including Justin Stuckey Podcast and The Cart Barn Podcast, as well as greeting patients from Children’s of Alabama on the first tee.
General media availability for Mortensen is scheduled around 8:40 a.m. near the driving range. The schedule reflects efforts to engage both media outlets and community groups during this high-profile event.
