Angela Williams, the Shades Valley High School alumna, took to the court for the James Madison Dukes in their 72-56 triumph over the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Friday, Feb. 27.
The 6′0″ sophomore forward and guard added 1 point, 4 rebounds and 1 assist over eight minutes of play.
The UAB Blazers softball team lost to South Florida, falling behind early and unable to recover offensively. Ashlyn Shirah hit her eighth home run of the season but it was not enough for victory. The teams will meet again tomorrow for Senior Day.
The Samford softball team swept Furman after a decisive 17-1 victory on Apr. 19. Strong offensive performances led to new season highs for Samford as they extended their winning streak.
Hailey Troup and Eleni Liakonis have been named to the Southern Conference second team for doubles after a successful season. The Samford duo went undefeated in league play ahead of this week’s SoCon Tournament.
