Terry Coner Jr., the former Pinson Valley High School standout, helped Oklahoma Baptist secure a 71-59 victory over the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers on Thursday, Feb. 26.
The 6-foot junior guard recorded 18 points, 3 steals and 2 rebounds in 34 minutes on the court.
Looking ahead, Coner Jr. and the Bison will host the East Central Tigers on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m.
The upcoming week starting Monday, April 27 will feature these former Jefferson County area high school athletes.
Jasmine Dereje set a new school record for UAB in the women’s 400-meter hurdles at LSU Alumni Gold. Other athletes also posted personal bests as UAB prepares for its next meet.
The UAB Blazers softball team lost to South Florida, falling behind early and unable to recover offensively. Ashlyn Shirah hit her eighth home run of the season but it was not enough for victory. The teams will meet again tomorrow for Senior Day.
