The UMass Boston Beacons, featuring former Mountain Brook High School standout Dowd Ritter, secured a 22-16 win over the MIT Engineers in an NCAA Division III baseball game Tuesday, March 3, at 3 p.m.

Monan Park hosted the matchup, marking the teams’ first meeting with the Engineers this season.

Ritter gave up five earned runs in 0.1 innings, issuing four walks.

The Beacons are scheduled to play again at Monan Park on Saturday, March 7, at 12 p.m. against the SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles.
