UAB’s Erik Olin was named to the All-American Conference Team, the league office announced on May 5. Olin, a graduate transfer from Falsterbo, Sweden, made an immediate impact in his first season with the Blazers by leading the team with a 71.6 stroke average during the fall and recording ten rounds at or below par along with three top-20 finishes.
Olin also earned American Conference Player of the Week honors on Feb. 11 after a strong performance early in the spring. His season included a low round of 68 and a best three-round total of 208, consistently placing him near the top of tournament leaderboards.
One highlight of his season was capturing medalist honors at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate by finishing at ten-under par, which was noted as one of the top individual performances this year. For the full season, Olin recorded a scoring average of 70.5 and had multiple top-10 results while securing first place in at least one event.
Olin joined UAB last fall after starting his collegiate career at USC Aiken and quickly became one of UAB’s most reliable performers throughout his debut season.
He now awaits potential selection as an individual participant for NCAA Regionals. The NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Selection Show is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6 at 1 p.m. Central Time on Golf Channel where selections for teams and individuals will be announced.
