UAB’s Erik Olin has been selected as an individual qualifier for the 2026 NCAA Men’s Golf Regionals, the NCAA announced on May 6. Olin will compete at the Athens Regional, which is hosted by the University of Georgia and will take place from May 17 to May 20 at the UGA Golf Course.
Olin enters the tournament as the No. 5 individual seed. The field includes top-ranked teams such as Auburn, Illinois, and host Georgia, along with other leading programs and individuals from across the country.
A graduate transfer from Falsterbo, Sweden, Olin has been a standout performer for UAB during the 2025-26 season. He holds a scoring average of 70.4 and earned medalist honors at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate. His stroke average ranks third all-time in UAB history. Olin also received All-American Conference honors and was named American Conference Player of the Week on February 11.
In addition to his achievements this spring, Olin posted a fall stroke average of 71.6 with ten rounds at or below par and three top-20 finishes after transferring from USC Aiken.
Head Coach Charlie Hoyle said about Olin: “Since he has got to campus, Erik has been coachable and consistent. He has had an incredibly consistent season and has been a high percentage counter for us. This regional selection is well deserved and a testament to his improvement and his great play.”
The NCAA Regionals feature eighty-one teams and forty-five individual qualifiers competing for spots in the NCAA Championship. The top five teams and low individual not on an advancing team from each regional will move forward to compete in Carlsbad, California later this month.
