The University of Alabama Gallery is proud to present the exhibition, Roscoe Hall: Two Houses, January 9 – February 23, 2023. There will be a reception for the artist on First Friday, February 3, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Raised in Chicago, artist Roscoe Hall has deep Alabama roots. Hall’s background and longtime skill set are deeply entrenched in the culinary world of the South – his grandfather was John “Big Daddy” Bishop, founder of Tuscaloosa’s Dreamland Bar-B-Que. Hall, who has earned his own cooking accolades (most recently as a contestant on Bravo’s Top Chef) is also a rising star in the art world. His layered, mixed media paintings bring together these aspects of his life like two houses on the same street. Read more about the exhibition here.
