Former Ramsay High star Eli Speights competes in NCAA Division II baseball game on Feb. 28

Former Ramsay High School standout Eli Speights took the field with the Tuskegee Golden Tigers on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 3 p.m. as they edged out the LeMoyne-Owen Magicians, 6-5, in an NCAA Division II baseball contest.

The matchup was held at Gameday Field and marked the second time this season the two teams faced off. Tuskegee previously beat the Magicians, 6-3, earlier on Saturday, Feb. 28.

Speights pitched 2.1 innings, giving up one earned run, issuing three walks, and striking out four batters.

The Golden Tigers will play the LeMoyne-Owen Magicians again at Gameday Field, with the next game set for Sunday, March 1, at 12 p.m.
