Gary Palmer, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Alabama’s 6th district, shared his thoughts on recent events through a series of tweets. Palmer, who has been in office since replacing Spencer Bachus in 2015, voiced concerns and gratitude while also highlighting federal expenditures.

On June 2, 2025, Palmer expressed his sorrow regarding an antisemitic attack in Colorado. He stated “Ann and I are heartbroken to hear about the antisemitic terror attack in Colorado. Our prayers are with the victims and all of those impacted by this disgusting act of violence. Antisemitism has no place in our country.”

Later that day, he extended his thanks to President Biden for bolstering manufacturing jobs in Alabama. Palmer tweeted “Thank you @POTUS for making manufacturing great again and bringing jobs to Alabama! Promises made, promises kept. “

On June 3, 2025, Palmer critiqued various government expenditures abroad by listing specific funding allocations. His tweet read “$33,000 for ‘Being LGBTI in the Caribbean’ $3 million for Iraqi Sesame Street $567,000 for LBGTQI+ programs in Uganda $3 million for circumcision, vasectomies, and condoms in Zambia $3 million for sexual reproductive health in Venezuela”

Born in Hackleburg, Alabama in 1954 and currently residing in Hoover, Gary Palmer graduated from the University of Alabama with a BS degree in 1977.
