Gary Palmer, U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 6th district since 2015, has recently used his social media platform to discuss regulatory reform, recognize athletic achievement, and highlight local business engagement.
On September 15, 2025, Palmer posted about upcoming legislative activity: “Outdated and burdensome regulations are stifling economic growth and sending American jobs overseas. The following day, on September 16, Palmer acknowledged a local athlete’s achievements: “Congratulations Ethan Strand, a middle-distance distance runner from Vestavia Hills, for representing the United States at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. Palmer was born in Hackleburg, Alabama in 1954 and currently resides in Hoover. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Before joining Congress in 2015—replacing Spencer Bachus—he built his career within Alabama’s public life.
