Gary Palmer, a U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 6th district since 2015, recently shared his views on several pressing issues via social media. Born in Hackleburg, Alabama in 1954 and a graduate of the University of Alabama, Palmer has been active in political discourse, addressing national security concerns and legislative decisions.
On June 12, 2025, Palmer expressed his concerns about sanctuary states such as Minnesota, Illinois, and New York. He stated that these states are “harboring dangerous individuals that harm American citizens” and emphasized that “Sanctuary policies are threats to our national security.” He invited followers to watch his questioning during a GOP oversight hearing.
Later the same day, Palmer announced his support for the Rescissions Act of 2025 through another post. He argued against the allocation of taxpayer dollars to certain international programs by stating: “The tax dollars of hard-working Americans should not be going towards transgender services in Nepal, LGBTQI+ programs in Uganda, Iraqi Sesame Street…”
In another message posted on June 13, Palmer called for prayers for Israel. Emphasizing solidarity with the nation, he wrote: “Please join me in praying for Israel tonight. America will always stand with Israel.”
Palmer continues to serve as an influential voice from Alabama’s 6th District.
