Gary Palmer, a U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 6th district since 2015, has recently shared his views on government spending and other pertinent issues through social media posts. Born in Hackleburg, Alabama in 1954 and currently residing in Hoover, Palmer graduated from the University of Alabama in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree.

On June 3, 2025, Gary Palmer expressed concerns over the use of taxpayer dollars to promote what he describes as “radical green-energy policies and DEI agendas across the globe.” He urged for action against this perceived misuse by advocating for cuts to such expenditures. “These are only a few examples of our taxpayer dollars being used to advance radical green-energy policies and DEI agendas across the globe. We must end this egregious abuse of government spending by codifying these cuts!”

In another post made shortly after on the same day, Palmer discussed President Biden’s rescissions package that proposes $9.4 billion in cuts to government spending. He emphasized that passing this package would support DOGE’s mission to eliminate wasteful practices within government expenditure. “. @POTUS’ recissions package contains $9.4 billion in cuts to government spending. By passing this package, we will further DOGE’s mission to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse.”

The following day, June 4, Palmer highlighted ongoing issues concerning illegal robocalls and texts that particularly target senior citizens. He invited followers to watch a hearing held by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce aimed at addressing these predatory practices.“Illegal robocalls and texts have been harassing Americans and preying on senior citizens for far too long.”
