Gary Palmer, U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 6th district since 2015, shared a series of updates on his official social media account regarding legislative priorities and recent activities.
On November 19, 2025, Palmer addressed the issue of carjacking prosecutions in federal law, stating: “Many violent carjackers have been able to avoid prosecution due to a federal loophole in the 1994 Crime Bill. By replacing the unrealistic intent requirement with a more practical ‘knowingly’ standard, these criminals will be held accountable and victims will get the justice they”.
The following morning, on November 20, Palmer commented on his role in congressional proceedings: “It’s an honor to preside over the House floor this morning!”
Later that same day, he posted about Republican efforts related to energy policy: “House Republicans are unleashing American energy and making energy affordable again!”
Palmer has represented Alabama’s 6th District in Congress since replacing Spencer Bachus in 2015. Born in Hackleburg, Alabama in 1954 and currently residing in Hoover, Palmer graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1977.
