Gary Palmer, who has represented Alabama’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2015, recently shared a series of statements on social media addressing American energy policy and legislative efforts related to critical minerals. Palmer, born in Hackleburg, Alabama in 1954 and a graduate of the University of Alabama, is an advocate for reducing U.S. dependence on foreign sources for essential materials.

On July 15, 2025, Palmer stated that “President Trump took immediate action to unleash American energy and boost our critical mineral development. We MUST codify his executive orders to end our dependence on China for critical minerals. My bill does just that.” He referenced further information available from Breitbart News.

In subsequent posts on July 15, 2025, Palmer listed several Congressional colleagues by their official handles: @RepCuellar @RepLaMalfa @RepDonaldsPress @RepBethVanDuyne @RepDavidRouzer @USRepMikeFlood and @RepCraigGoldman @RepBrianJack @RepJeffHurd @RepBentz @RepTimMooreNC @RepBuddyCarter @RepEliCrane @RepStutzman @RepMarkHarrisNC @RepJoeWilson @RepMarkGreen @RepMann @CongressmanGT @RepKnott @Robert_Aderholt @MikeKellyPA @boblatta @RepTomBarrett @RepHaridopolos. The context of these mentions was not specified within the tweets.

Palmer replaced Spencer Bachus in Congress in 2015 and currently resides in Hoover, Alabama.
