On May 5, 2025, Palmer emphasized the importance of domestic critical mineral production for national and economic security. He stated, “American critical mineral production is necessary for our national and economic security.” He also noted that the Permitting Council announced new projects aligned with a recent executive order from the President.
Later that day, Palmer congratulated Meg Goodsell from Evangel Classical Christian School for her achievement in winning this year’s Congressional Art Competition for Alabama’s 6th Congressional District. Gary Palmer was born in Hackleburg, Alabama in 1954 and currently resides in Hoover. A graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree obtained in 1977, he succeeded Spencer Bachus as representative of Alabama’s 6th district.
