Gary Palmer, U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 6th district since 2015, posted several announcements and acknowledgments on his official Twitter account in early August 2025.

On August 4, Palmer recognized the anniversary of the United States Coast Guard by posting: “Happy birthday to the @USCG! Thank you to all of the brave men and women who serve. “

The following day, August 5, Palmer shared two posts related to upcoming holiday events. In one tweet, he encouraged musical performers and groups to participate in December festivities: “Performers and musical groups including school bands, choirs, and holiday-themed entertainers are encouraged to apply here for the opportunity to perform during holiday open houses during the month of December.” In a separate post from the same date, he invited individuals interested in volunteering for White House decorating: “Individuals interested in volunteering to decorate the White House can apply here and must be 18 years of age or older. Decorating will take place during the week of Monday, November 24 through Sunday, November 30, 2025.”

Palmer has represented Alabama’s 6th District since replacing Spencer Bachus in Congress in 2015. Born in Hackleburg, Alabama in 1954 and currently residing in Hoover, Palmer graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1977.
