The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced on March 31 that it is investigating a homicide that took place Tuesday evening in Brighton, Alabama.
Authorities said deputies responded at about 5:08 p.m. to the 4000 block of Bethany Avenue after receiving a report of a person down. When they arrived, they found a 21-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound.
Brighton Fire & Rescue personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene, according to officials.
The sheriff’s office said the case is being investigated as a homicide. As of now, no arrests have been made and no charges have been filed.
