UAB Baseball’s Landon Beaver was named an Honorable Mention for Week 11 by the conference office on Apr. 27. This is the first time Beaver has received this recognition in his career.
Beaver, a sophomore utility player from Phenix City, Alabama, had a strong performance during the week. He went 9-for-17 at the plate, scored five runs, hit three doubles and a home run, drew three walks, drove in two runs, stole a base, and collected 15 total bases. Beaver also recorded multi-hit games in all three UAB wins that week and had three hits in each of the last two games against Memphis.
Other weekly awards announced included Joseph Webb of East Carolina as Pitcher of the Week and Jack Herring of East Carolina as Player of the Week. Alongside Beaver on the Honorable Mention list were James Litman from Florida Atlantic, Ty Thames from Rice, Conor Myles from UTSA, and Matthew Cuccias from Wichita State.
This honor adds to several weekly recognitions earned by UAB players throughout the season. Previous recipients include Riley Miller (Pitcher of the Week), Alex Dupuy (Honorable Mention), John Paul Head (Player of the Week and Baseball America Team of the Week), Mason Steele (Honorable Mention), Wesley Helms (Honorable Mention), Justin Hicks (Pitcher of the Week), and Andrew Hunt (Honorable Mention).
Looking ahead, UAB will travel to Houston to play Rice from May 1-3 at Reckling Park. All games are scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+.
