Join us for the return of Magic City Fashion Week, hosted at the Birmingham Museum of Art. Founded in 2017, Magic City Fashion Week aims to cultivate, connect, and showcase the artistic community of Birmingham through fashion with two days of fashion fun.
Day 1
June 9, 2022 // 5-8pm
Join MCFW and BMA for an interactive evening highlighting the vibrant creative culture of the Magic City! Magic City Fashion Week SZN IV begins with an immersive art + fashion experience hosted by basic. and Forecast Salon in collaboration with the Birmingham Museum of Art.
The program includes a cocktail hour, panel discussion, dance performances by local groups Notinee & Formations Dance Co, and music by DJ Coco. The night concludes with runway shows by Sari Drapiér Diana Thomas Rawlings of Draped2Nines, a Billy Reid show with style influencer Randall Porter, a drag show by local queens, basic., and a hair-centric performance from Forecast Salon.
Day 2
June 10, 2022 // 5-9pm
Join the BMA and Splashed by DKG for the 4th Annual Emerging Designer Runway Competition. This night features drinks, pride-centered art activities, a drag show by local Queens, music by DJ Dolly, title runway shows from previous winners Kenya B. and Calechie, and an introduction of collections from MCFW’s six emerging designers. Designers will compete for bragging rights and a prize package worth $10,000 to further their career.
The evening concludes with the newest collection from our founder Splashed by DKG and the grand finale event to find the next top brand.a
