One Deceased in Thanksgiving Evening Shooting

Around 6:45 PM tonight, deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 2400 block of 5th Street NW in Center Point, to investigate reports of a person who had been shot.  Upon arrival deputies encountered a male, who was deceased from a gunshot wound.

Detectives have been called to the scene and are conducting an investigation into the shooting death.  The reason for the shooting has not yet been determined.  If you have any information, you may call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450, option 2.
