Dr. Ian McFarland will deliver the first Reformation Heritage Lecture entitled, “The Lord of Glory,” as part of Beeson Divinity School’s annual Reformation Heritage Lectures.

A Lutheran lay theologian, Ian McFarland began his teaching career at the University of Aberdeen and served as Regius Professor of Divinity at the University of Cambridge from 2015-2019.  He is currently Robert W. Woodruff Professor of Theology at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology, where his research and teaching focus on Christology, eschatology, theological anthropology and the doctrine of creation. His books include In Adams’ Fall: A Meditation on the Doctrine of Original Sin, From Nothing: A Theology of Creation and The Word Made Flesh: A Theology of the Incarnation.
