Rep. Terri A. Sewell, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Alabama’s 7th district, has expressed strong opinions on recent developments concerning the Air Force curriculum and local community engagement. Sewell, who has been in office since 2011 after replacing Artur Davis, took to social media to voice her concerns and plans.

On January 25, 2025, Rep. Sewell criticized a decision related to the Air Force curriculum regarding the Tuskegee Airmen. She stated: “The Tuskegee Airmen bravely fought and died for our freedoms before this nation even granted them the full benefits of citizenship. To strip them from the Air Force curriculum is an outrageous betrayal of our values as Americans. Their heroism is not DEI. It is American history!”

Following up on her previous statement, also on January 25, 2025, Rep. Sewell called for immediate action by stating: “I’m calling on the Air Force to immediately reverse this decision. We will not let our history be erased!”

In addition to addressing national issues, Rep. Sewell engaged with her constituents by announcing a local event via social media on January 26, 2025: ” Calling all residents of Hueytown! Join me for a Meet and Greet on Thursday, January 30. I look forward to welcoming you our district and hearing about your federal needs!” This event reflects her ongoing commitment to connecting with residents of Alabama’s 7th District.
