Rep. Terri A. Sewell, who represents Alabama’s 7th congressional district, recently used her social media platform to announce upcoming constituent services and events aimed at assisting residents with federal agency issues and celebrating the 90th anniversary of Social Security.

On August 11, 2025, Sewell posted: “Having trouble with a federal agency? Team Sewell is here to help! Members of my staff will be at the Lisman Town Hall this Wednesday to assist with your federal needs. We hope to see you there!” The following day, she reiterated her office’s commitment by announcing a mobile office visit: ” Attention Choctaw County! We’re bringing our mobile office to the Lisman Town Hall today from 11am to 2pm. Members of my team will be available to assist with your federal needs. Come see us!” (August 13, 2025).

In another post dated August 12, 2025, Sewell addressed Social Security: ” NEW: To mark the 90th anniversary of #SocialSecurity, I’m hosting a ‘Hands Off Our Benefits’ edition of Terri Talks with special guest @RepJohnLarson. Join us for a conversation about the need to protect and enhance this critical program. Streaming Thursday, Aug. 14 at 3PM.”

Sewell has represented Alabama’s 7th District in Congress since replacing Artur Davis in 2011. She was born in Huntsville, Alabama in 1965 and currently resides in Birmingham. Her educational background includes degrees from Princeton University (BA), St Hilda’s College, Oxford (MA), and Harvard University (JD).
