Sewell, who has an extensive educational background with degrees from Princeton University, St Hilda’s College, Oxford, and Harvard University, is actively seeking answers from the IRS about these allegations.
On February 6, 2025, Rep. Sewell tweeted about leading a letter from every Democrat on the Ways and Means Committee demanding explanations from the IRS concerning “Elon Musk’s theft of Americans’ private information.” She emphasized that “The American people deserve to know what information has been accessed, how many times it has been accessed, and for what purpose…” “Original quotation”.
Later that day, she posted another tweet announcing that Ways and Means Committee Democrats were taking action against these alleged privacy violations by Elon Musk.
