Rep. Terri A. Sewell, U.S. Congresswoman representing Alabama’s 7th district since 2011, recently used her social media platform to inform constituents about upcoming events and reflect on significant milestones.
On July 14, 2025, Sewell announced an outreach initiative for her constituents: “We’re bringing our mobile office to Grove Hill this Wednesday! Members of my staff will be available to assist with your federal needs. We hope to see you there! “ The mobile office event aims to provide direct assistance from congressional staff to residents in Grove Hill.
A day later, on July 15, Sewell commemorated the legacy of civil rights leader John Lewis: “John Lewis told us to never give up. To never give in. To keep the faith and keep our eyes on the prize. As we mark 5 years since his passing, we should be guided by his persistence and inspired by his determination.”
On July 16, she highlighted a legislative milestone related to digital finance: “We just wrapped up the first hearing on cryptocurrency in the history of the Ways and Means Committee. I was honored to help lead it as Ranking Member!”
Sewell’s public service began in 2011 when she succeeded Artur Davis as representative for Alabama’s 7th District. She is one of several members working actively within Congress and currently resides in Birmingham after being born in Huntsville in 1965. Her academic background includes degrees from Princeton University, St Hilda’s College at Oxford, and a law degree from Harvard University.
These recent updates reflect both her ongoing engagement with local constituents and her participation in national legislative developments.
