Rep. Terri A. Sewell, who has represented Alabama’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress since 2011, recently shared updates on community engagement and educational achievements through a series of posts on her official Twitter account.

On April 30, 2026, Rep. Sewell posted about her team’s participation at a major municipal event: “Team Sewell had a great time seeing so many AL07 Mayors and Councilors at the Alabama League of Cities Convention!”

Later that day, she highlighted her support for local students pursuing military careers: “Last year, I was proud to nominate Brookwood High School’s own Justin Harbin to attend the United States Air Force Academy. Team Sewell was honored to join Justin, his family, and the entire Brookwood High School community to celebrate his acceptance to this prestigious” (April 30, 2026).

On May 1, 2026, Rep. Sewell commented on a significant development for Birmingham: “So excited to see this deal finalized! This investment will bring new training capacity, new jobs, and new energy to a campus that has been part of Birmingham’s identity for generations. It’s great to see this new chapter begin and to know the surrounding communities will”

Sewell was born in Huntsville in 1965 and now resides in Birmingham. She holds degrees from Princeton University (BA), St Hilda’s College, Oxford (MA), and Harvard University (JD). She succeeded Artur Davis as representative of Alabama’s 7th district in Congress.
