Representative Terri A. Sewell, serving Alabama’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress since 2011, has recently shared several significant updates on her social media platform.

On June 3, 2025, Sewell expressed concern over President Trump’s proposed budget for 2026. She stated, “Anyone who takes pride in Alabama’s role as a leader in space exploration should be alarmed by Trump’s 2026 budget proposal.” The proposal includes cutting over $6 billion from NASA’s budget and terminating the Space Launch System program, potentially jeopardizing more than 15,000 jobs in Alabama.

In another post dated June 3, 2025, Sewell informed constituents about assistance with federal agencies. She mentioned that representatives from her office would be available at the Irondale Senior Activity Center in Jefferson County on June 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., stating “Need help with a federal agency? Our team is here to help!”

Additionally, Sewell addressed a recent tragedy involving the death of Carl Williams III in Mobile due to a shooting incident. On June 3, she conveyed her condolences and support for his family and community through her message: “My heart breaks for the family of Carl Williams III who was tragically killed in a shooting in Mobile on Sunday.”

Terri Sewell was born in Huntsville, Alabama in 1965 and currently resides in Birmingham. She holds degrees from Princeton University (BA), St Hilda’s College at Oxford (MA), and Harvard University (JD).
