The Samford baseball team will travel to Florence, Alabama, to play against the North Alabama Lions on May 5. The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
This matchup is part of a longstanding series between the two teams, with North Alabama holding a 12-7 advantage over Samford across their previous 19 meetings. Earlier this season, Samford defeated North Alabama by a score of 6-5 at Joe Lee Griffin Field.
Samford enters the contest with an overall record of 24-21 and a Southern Conference record of 9-6 after dropping two out of three games to Mercer over the weekend. Michael Fredette is expected to start as pitcher for Samford; he currently has a record of 0-2 and an earned run average (ERA) of 13.03 this season.

North Alabama comes into Tuesday’s game holding an overall record of 24-22 and stands at 15-9 in Atlantic Sun Conference play after losing two out of three games to Bellarmine during the weekend. Jordan Touhey is listed as their starting pitcher for Tuesday’s game; he holds a record of 2-1 with an ERA of 7.20.
Nash Rippen leads North Alabama offensively, batting .327 with sixteen home runs and forty-three RBI so far this season. Wes Walker and Dylan Coleman share the team lead in RBI at fifty each.
