The Samford men’s basketball team secured a decisive 106-51 win over Bryan College at the Pete Hanna Center in Birmingham. With this victory, Samford’s record now stands at 6-6 for the season.
Samford began the game strongly, making their first five shots and establishing an early 13-0 lead. The Bulldogs dominated offensively, shooting over 60 percent from the field and converting 11 of 18 three-point attempts in the first half. Jadin Booth was perfect from beyond the arc in that period, hitting all five of his three-point shots and scoring 15 of his game-high 19 points.
Multiple players contributed to Samford’s performance as they extended their lead to as much as 44 points before halftime. Nine different Bulldogs scored during the first half, with Cade Norris adding 10 points and Kam Martin contributing eight points in his third start of the year. Dylan Faulkner made three out of four field goals for nine points, while Judson Bjornstad added seven off the bench. On defense, Samford limited Bryan to just 30 percent shooting and led by a score of 60-18 at halftime.
In the second half, Samford maintained control and continued to rotate players into the lineup. The team shot 16-of-33 from the field and went 7-for-20 on three-pointers after halftime. Will Shaver provided eight points off the bench, Faulkner added seven more to finish with a total of 16 points and eight rebounds, while Zion Wilburn and Caleb Harrison each scored six second-half points coming off the bench. Zach Lamey also contributed two three-pointers during the game.
Samford ended with a shooting percentage of 55 percent from the floor and made a season-high total of eighteen three-pointers. This marks their second consecutive game shooting above fifty percent as they return to an even record following this dominant showing.
Looking ahead, Samford will play another NAIA opponent when they host Reinhardt on Friday afternoon at noon inside Pete Hanna Center.
