The Samford men’s golf team finished in eighth place at the Southern Conference Championship, according to an April 29 announcement. The tournament took place over three days at the Solina Golf Club in West Columbia, South Carolina.
The team’s final score was a combined 32-over-par 884 across three rounds. Chattanooga won the event with a total score of 847.
Individually, Gavin Isbell led Samford by tying for tenth place among forty-two competitors with a three-round total of two-over-par 215. Campbell Sciortino tied for twenty-first with a score of 220, while Blake Gayles finished thirty-sixth at 227. Jack Mikesell placed thirty-seventh with a score of 229.
Tiaan Hugo participated as a substitute during the first two rounds and played in place of Matthew Smith on Wednesday’s final round, scoring four-over-par 75.
