Samford men’s golf finishes seventh at Mobile Bay Intercollegiate

The Samford men’s golf team finished in seventh place at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, which took place on March 31 and April 1 at Magnolia Grove in Mobile, Alabama.

The event featured a field of 13 teams. Samford recorded a three-round total score of 15-over-par 867, with individual rounds of 281, 294, and 292. South Alabama secured first place in the tournament with a final score of 826.

Among Samford’s players, Gavin Isbell led the team by tying for eleventh overall out of eighty-one participants. He posted scores of 68, 74, and 69 for a total of two-under-par (211). Jack Mikesell tied for thirty-first with a score of three-over-par (216), while Blake Gayles tied for thirty-eighth at five-over-par (218). Matthew Smith finished tied for sixty-first with twelve-over-par (225), and Nolen Wolfe tied for sixty-sixth at fourteen-over-par (227).

Tiaan Hugo competed as an individual and did not contribute to the team score but finished tied for forty-fifth with six-over-par (219).

The team’s next competition will be the Wofford Invitational scheduled for April 12-13 in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
