The Samford University softball team will travel to play Wofford in a three-game Southern Conference series starting Friday, April 2. The teams will compete in two games on Friday at noon and 2 p.m., followed by a single game on Saturday at 11 a.m.

This matchup is significant as Samford holds a 15-22 overall record and stands at 5-1 in conference play, while Wofford has posted a 24-8 overall mark with a 3-3 record in the league. Samford currently sits second in the conference standings after winning six consecutive games before their recent loss to UAB.

The Bulldogs lead the all-time series against the Terriers, having won four of their previous five meetings. The team has been recognized for individual achievements as well: Katie Campbell was named Southern Conference Player of the Week after hitting four home runs against Chattanooga, bringing her within one of the conference lead. Reese Hickey earned Pitcher of the Week honors following her streak of fifteen scoreless innings and two wins last week. Olivia Shaw, who was selected as Preseason Player of the Year, leads Samford with a .364 batting average, forty hits, and twenty-one extra-base hits.

Samford’s offense has been strong during conference play; they currently lead the league in both batting average and runs scored during SoCon matchups.

Both Friday games will be available for streaming on ESPN+, while live statistics will be provided for all three contests. Additional updates can be found through official channels including SamfordSports.com and various social media platforms dedicated to Samford Athletics.
