The Samford women’s golf team finished in fourth place at the Southern Conference Championship, which took place from Monday to Wednesday at Columbia Country Club in Blythewood, South Carolina.
The tournament saw Samford post a three-round team score of 49-over-par 913. Furman secured first place with a final score of 894. The competition was held on a par-72 course measuring 6,150 yards.
Two Samford players achieved top-10 finishes out of the field of 45 golfers. Anika Richards and Grace Engel both tied for eighth place, each recording an overall score of 225 across three rounds. Gabi Nicastro tied for seventeenth with a total score of 230, while Kate Joyner tied for twenty-first at 233.
Anne Reaves Skinner participated in the final round as a substitute and shot a round of 79 after sitting out the first two rounds. Ella Stoll played the first two rounds with scores of 85 and 89 before being substituted by Skinner on Wednesday.
