Samford women’s golf team holds second place after two rounds at ULM Invitational

The Samford women’s golf team is in second place after the first two rounds of the ULM Invitational, held on March 30 at Bayou Desiard Country Club in Monroe, Louisiana.

The tournament features a field of 14 teams. Samford recorded a combined score of six-over-par 582 (287-295) through two rounds, trailing host Louisiana-Monroe, which leads with a total score of 577 (284-293).

Individually, Grace Engel and Gabi Nicastro are tied for third among the 84 players competing. Both golfers finished with scores of three-under-par 141 over their two rounds—Engel posting rounds of 67 and 74, while Nicastro scored 74 and then an impressive 67.

Other Samford competitors include Kate Joyner, who is tied for twentieth with a score of five-over-par 149 (75-74), and Anika Richards, tied for thirtieth at seven-over-par 151 (71-80). Anne Reaves Skinner sits in eighty-first place with a total score of plus twenty-six at 170 (85-85).
