Senator Katie Boyd Britt, representing Alabama in the U.S. Senate, recently shared a series of posts on her official X account addressing her engagement with Senate pages, concerns about voting rights in Washington D.C., and updates on border security.

On July 31, 2025, Senator Britt highlighted her visit with young participants in the Senate page program. She wrote, “Today, I joined @SenBooker in spending time with the young men and women currently serving as U.S. Senate pages! I appreciate the hard work and dedication they’ve shown during their time in D.C., and I enjoyed hearing the lessons they’re taking with them from this program.”

The following day, August 1, 2025, Senator Britt commented on local election policies in Washington D.C., stating her opposition to non-citizen voting. She posted, “D.C. allowing illegal aliens to vote in local elections is a slap in the face to every American citizen. Proud to lead legislation in the Senate to ensure only American citizens can vote in our nation’s capital.” The District of Columbia has enacted measures permitting noncitizens to participate in local elections; however, federal law prohibits noncitizens from voting in federal contests.

Later that same day, Britt referenced border security developments: “Another record low at our southern border and ZERO releases into our interior for the third straight month. Promises made, promises kept.” This statement comes amid ongoing national debates over immigration policy and enforcement at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Senator Katie Boyd Britt has served as Alabama’s junior senator since January 2023.
