Senator Katie Boyd Britt posted a series of statements on August 2 and 3, 2025, regarding the confirmation process for presidential nominees in Washington. In her initial post on August 2, she stated, “Proud to be in Washington today to get the job done. Let’s get @POTUS’s nominees confirmed!”
Later that day, Senator Britt addressed opposition from Democratic lawmakers. She wrote on August 2, “Democrats’ unprecedented obstruction will not work. My @SenateGOP colleagues and I are fighting to confirm @POTUS’ nominees—and we’re getting the job done one way or another.”
On August 3, Senator Britt announced the Senate’s confirmation of Adam Telle as Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works. She stated, “Congratulations to my friend and Northport native, Adam Telle, who was confirmed by the Senate tonight as @POTUS’s Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works. His leadership at the Army Corps couldn’t come at a more important time, and I’m thankful he is willing to serve.”
The U.S. Senate holds responsibility for confirming presidential appointments to key federal positions through a process that often involves committee hearings and full chamber votes. Disagreements between political parties can sometimes delay confirmations.
