Senator Katie Boyd Britt, a Republican representing Alabama, recently used her social media platform to address several national and state issues. In a series of posts made on August 10 and 11, 2025, she commented on public safety in Washington D.C., congressional representation, and domestic energy production.

On August 10, Senator Britt criticized current conditions in the nation’s capital, stating: “Our nation’s capital should represent the best of America. Sadly, the seat of our government has rapidly deteriorated due to radical left-wing policies. Thankful @POTUS is committed to making our capital safe and beautiful again!” She attributed the decline to what she described as “radical left-wing policies” and expressed support for efforts by President Biden to improve safety and aesthetics in Washington D.C.

Later that same day, Britt voiced her support for legislative action regarding congressional representation. She wrote: “I’m proud to cosponsor @SenatorHagerty’s Equal Representation Act. We need to ensure only citizens are factored in the count for Congressional districts and the Electoral College. American citizens deserve fairness in representation.” The Equal Representation Act aims to change how populations are counted for apportioning seats in Congress and votes in the Electoral College by excluding non-citizens from these counts.

On August 11, Senator Britt participated in a conference with other members of Alabama’s federal delegation hosted by the Business Council of Alabama (BCA). She highlighted energy policy as a key topic of discussion: “Great to join members of Alabama’s federal delegation at BCA’s government affairs conference. We discussed several issues, including the importance of energy production. Unleashing domestic energy is critical to delivering affordable, reliable energy for Americans.”

Senator Britt has been an advocate for increased domestic energy production—a stance aligned with broader Republican priorities that emphasize lowering costs and improving reliability through expanded U.S.-based resource development.

The Business Council of Alabama (BCA), which hosted the government affairs conference attended by Britt and others from Alabama’s delegation, regularly engages policymakers on issues impacting business growth within the state.
