On September 4, 2025, Senator Britt stated, “Redstone Arsenal earned the top spot in the Air Force’s site selection process. The data was clear then, and it’s clear now – Redstone is the best permanent home for @US_SpaceCom!”
The following day, she addressed public debate over President Biden’s decision to select Alabama for the command’s headquarters: ” A few armchair rocket scientists appeared confused earlier this week why @POTUS chose Alabama for @US_SpaceCom HQ. Alabamians have long known why Huntsville is one of the best cities in America to live, work, and raise a family, but if you have not visited, let’s take a” (posted on September 5, 2025).
Continuing her thread that same day, Senator Britt emphasized Huntsville’s academic credentials: “For starters, the Rocket City is one of the most educated cities in America. This is no surprise given Huntsville boasts one of the highest concentrations of PhDs per capita, a strong public school system, and quality universities like @UAHuntsville and @aamuedu.”
Redstone Arsenal has been at the center of ongoing discussions regarding the location of U.S. Space Command headquarters. The selection process has included evaluations by military officials and policymakers over several years. Huntsville—often called “Rocket City” due to its historic ties to space exploration—has developed a reputation for its concentration of highly educated residents and institutions such as the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) and Alabama A&M University.
