Her tweets emphasized the facility’s role as a federal center supporting national security and housing several key defense and intelligence organizations.
In her first post, Britt stated: “@UAHuntsville @aamuedu Huntsville is home to Redstone Arsenal, which is a Federal Center of Excellence, partnering with the Army, DOD, NASA, and FBI in support of advancing our Nation’s national security, and where @US_SpaceCom HQ will be based. Redstone has grown to include more than 65 diverse” (September 5, 2025).
She followed up by detailing some of the major commands located at Redstone Arsenal: “@UAHuntsville @aamuedu @US_SpaceCom Redstone Arsenal is home to the U.S. Army’s Army Materiel Command, Space and Missile Defense Command, and Aviation and Missile Command, as well as PEO Missiles and Space.” (September 5, 2025).
In a third post on the same day, Britt added: “@UAHuntsville @aamuedu @US_SpaceCom Redstone Arsenal is also home to other national assets, including the Missile Defense Agency, Space Development Agency, and the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Missile and Space Intelligence Center.” (September 5, 2025).
Redstone Arsenal is a major U.S. Army post located in Huntsville, Alabama. It serves as a critical hub for military research and development as well as space operations. The base supports over 70 tenant agencies from various branches of government and defense sectors. It plays an integral role in missile defense systems development for the United States military.
The headquarters for U.S. Space Command was officially announced to be moving to Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville after a competitive selection process involving multiple states.
