Senator Katie Boyd Britt, representing Alabama in the U.S. Senate, posted a series of messages on August 18, 2025, highlighting personal milestones and national commemorations.

In her first post of the day, Britt acknowledged her parents’ wedding anniversary, stating: “Wishing my parents a very happy anniversary! It’s been a blessing to witness the love and commitment they’ve set as an example throughout their 46 years of marriage. I couldn’t be more grateful for the foundation they’ve built for our family. Love you both!” (August 18, 2025).

Later that afternoon, she marked the anniversary of a significant event in American history with another message: “Today, we celebrate the ratification of the 19th Amendment, securing women the right to vote. I’m extremely grateful for the trailblazers who paved the way for American women and I’m proud to continue building on their legacy.” (August 18, 2025).

Britt concluded her day’s posts by expressing support for former President Donald Trump. She wrote: “President Trump is the President of Peace and the Dealmaker in Chief. History needs his strong leadership on the world stage in this pivotal moment.” (August 18, 2025).

The ratification of the 19th Amendment occurred on August 18, 1920, granting women in the United States full voting rights after decades of activism by suffragists and supporters across the country.

Senator Katie Boyd Britt became Alabama’s first female elected U.S. Senator in January 2023.
