Senator Katie Boyd Britt, a U.S. Senator from Alabama, marked the anniversary of September 11 with several public statements on social media. Her posts addressed both national remembrance and ongoing international humanitarian concerns.
In a message posted on September 11, 2025, Britt wrote, “I stand with my colleagues and all Americans in remembering 9/11. We will never forget.”
Later that day, she commented on the plight of Ukrainian children affected by the war in Ukraine: “As a mom, I can’t imagine the heartbreak of having a child ripped from your arms. Nearly 20,000 Ukrainian children have been kidnapped or displaced. We must use every tool in our toolbox to bring them home.” International organizations and governments have reported that thousands of Ukrainian children have been separated from their families due to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine since 2022.
In another post on September 11, Britt highlighted recent Senate action: “Senate Republicans just took the first steps to end unprecedented Democrat obstruction. We’re getting @POTUS’ team in place.” The Senate has experienced partisan disagreements over presidential appointments and legislative procedures in recent years.
Britt’s statements reflect her engagement with both national commemoration efforts and international humanitarian issues while also addressing current political developments within the Senate.
