U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) released a statement marking the second anniversary of the October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas militants on Israel. The senator described the incident as “one of the worst attacks on the Jewish people in modern history.”
Britt emphasized that for two years, Hamas has continued its conflict with Israel and its citizens. She noted that the impact of the attack has extended globally, affecting Jewish communities around the world.
“One such consequence is the shocking rise in antisemitism in America and abroad. The more people who refuse to condemn this despicable violence and hold aggressors accountable, the more we lose our compassion and our humanity. I will always be proud to stand with the Jewish people. May we never forget October 7, the barbaric atrocities of Hamas, the resilience of Israel and her people, the urgent need to bring all hostages home, and our enduring pursuit to combat hatred and violence with goodness and bravery at every turn,” Britt stated.
The senator’s remarks come amid ongoing concerns about increased antisemitism both domestically and internationally since the attack.
