Sewanee Tigers defeat Asbury Eagles 8-1 in Division III baseball, featuring Homewood alum Charlie Teel

The Sewanee Tigers, which includes former Homewood High School player Charlie Teel, secured an 8-1 victory over the Asbury Eagles in their NCAA Division III baseball meeting on Sunday, March 8, at 1 p.m.

The matchup occurred at Montgomery Field and marked the Tigers’ third contest against the Eagles this season. In the prior meeting on Saturday, March 7, Sewanee topped Asbury 19-3.

Teel contributed on the mound, pitching one inning with two walks issued.

The Tigers will take the field again on Tuesday, March 17, at 3 p.m. at Covenant Baseball Field as they face the Covenant Scots.
