Representative Gary Palmer of Alabama's 6th District has been appointed as the Chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. This announcement was accompanied by a statement from Rep. Palmer expressing gratitude towards Chairman Brett Guthrie for his confidence in Palmer's capabilities.

"The Energy and Commerce Committee has broad jurisdiction with broad oversight responsibilities, and I appreciate the confidence of Chairman Brett Guthrie in trusting me with this opportunity," said Rep. Palmer. He emphasized working alongside President-Elect Trump to eliminate unnecessary regulations, harness natural resources, reduce healthcare costs, and support American consumers. Congressman Troy Balderson was also mentioned as Vice Chair to aid in leading these efforts.

Chairman-Elect Brett Guthrie extended his congratulations to Rep. Palmer, acknowledging his dedication to examining complex issues thoroughly. "Congratulations to Congressman Palmer on being selected to chair the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.
