Congressman Brett Guthrie and Congressman Gary Palmer have announced an upcoming hearing for the Subcommittee on Oversight & Investigations. The session, titled "Examining the Biden Administration’s Energy and Environment Spending Push," will be the first of the 119th Congress.

Chairmen Guthrie and Palmer expressed concerns about recent spending by the Biden-Harris Administration. They stated, “In its final months, the Biden-Harris Administration handed out billions of dollars in energy and environment grants and loans at an unprecedented pace, exacerbating concerns that appropriate vetting and due diligence reviews may not have occurred for some of these awards.” The hearing aims to scrutinize this spending surge and identify any potential misuse of federal funds.

The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 10:30 AM ET. It will take place in room 2322 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The event is open to both the public and press and will be available via livestream on energycommerce.house.gov.

For inquiries related to this hearing, Calvin Huggins can be contacted at Calvin.Huggins1@mail.house.gov. Press-related questions should be directed to Zach Bannon at Zach.Bannon@mail.house.gov.
