On June 16, 2025, Rep. Sewell tweeted about her participation in a discussion held in Greensboro regarding the potential negative impacts of federal cuts to essential services such as health care, education, and food assistance. She expressed gratitude towards the constituents and community leaders who attended the event: “We were in Greensboro today for a conversation about the harm that will be caused by federal cuts to health care, education, and food assistance. Thanks to the many constituents and community leaders who joined us!”

The following day on June 17, Rep. Sewell highlighted her recognition of Ms. Brenda Phillips-Hong for her contributions over 15 years supporting breast cancer patients through “Brenda’s Brown Bosom Buddies.” In acknowledging Ms. Brenda’s work, she reiterated her commitment to improving access to health care: “Team Sewell was thrilled to recognize Ms. Brenda Phillips-Hong for her 15 years supporting those battling breast cancer through her organization ‘Brenda’s Brown Bosom Buddies.’ People like Ms. Brenda are why I fight so hard for better access to health care—and especially cancer”

She emphasized her dedication to advocating for these businesses amidst what she described as administrative chaos: “At today’s roundtable in Birmingham, we heard from so many small business owners who are being hurt by President Trump’s reckless tariffs.
