U.S. Representative Terri A. Sewell, who has served Alabama’s 7th district in Congress since 2011, posted a series of tweets on November 3, 2025, highlighting both the impact of recent health care policies and her community engagement efforts.
In a post addressing the start of Affordable Care Act (ACA) Open Enrollment, Sewell commented on the current political climate and its effect on health care for Alabama families. On November 3, she wrote: “With the start of ACA Open Enrollment, the consequences of the Republican health care crisis just became real for so many Alabama families. While billionaires celebrate huge new tax breaks from Trump’s Big Ugly Bill, hundreds of thousands of hard working Alabamians are wondering”.
Later that day, Sewell shared details about her team’s volunteer work in Tuscaloosa: “Team Sewell is here in Tuscaloosa packing up boxes of food for those in need! Neighbor helping neighbor is what it’s all about! https://t.co/g3vBnnA2u4” (November 3).
She also expressed gratitude to local volunteers supporting food distribution efforts: “Special thanks to Jean and the amazing staff and volunteers at the West Alabama Food Bank! https://t.co/gDFZhfBfxe” (November 3).
Sewell, born in Huntsville in 1965 and currently residing in Birmingham, has an extensive educational background with degrees from Princeton University, St Hilda’s College at Oxford, and Harvard Law School. She succeeded Artur Davis as representative for Alabama’s 7th district after his departure in 2011.
