U.S. Representative Terri A. Sewell, who serves Alabama’s 7th district, recently addressed several key issues on her social media platform, including rural health care, the legacy of a local journalist, and federal energy policy.
On October 30, 2025, Sewell posted about a live discussion focused on rural health challenges: “LIVE NOW: I’m discussing the rural health crisis with Rural Health Medical Program CEO Keshee Dozier-Smith. Tune in! https://t.co/UhflkvITBy”.
Later that day, she offered condolences to the family of Desmond and acknowledged his contributions to journalism in Alabama: “I’m keeping Desmond’s family and the entire WSFA News team in my prayers. It was Desmond’s life’s work to keep Alabamians informed, and we are all better off for his decades of hard work and dedication. May his legacy live on in the many lives he touched. https://t.co/OWbtuVLjCR”.
On October 31, 2025, Sewell commented on recent increases in Americans’ energy bills while referencing previous changes to clean energy tax credits: “Americans are paying higher energy bills because Trump and Republicans eliminated clean energy tax credits that were saving money and creating jobs.
I joined @RepThompson to introduce legislation RESTORING these tax credits and lowering energy costs for families. https://t.co/yAifyVHXEJ“.
Sewell has represented Alabama’s 7th District since replacing Artur Davis in 2011. She was born in Huntsville in 1965 and currently resides in Birmingham at age 58. Her academic background includes degrees from Princeton University (BA), St Hilda’s College at Oxford (MA), and Harvard University (JD).
